WHAT I’M UP TO
At the moment I’m focussing on finishing recording a collection of chamber pieces for my new album - Ones Twos and Threes - to be released in June. These are solos, duos and trios composed over the last five years. It’s a real mixture of pieces, but all ones I’m very proud of, and I think represent what I do as a composer. I’ll soon be in rehearsals for live gigs to promote the release of Ocean Songs on 24th March. I’m also really pleased that on 13th February there will be the premiere of a little bit of music for dance that I have created. This will be at the Place Theatre London and is called Pushing Boundaries. The Cutty Sark Soundscape (co-created with Nic Pendlebury) continues onboard the ship in Greenwich. It was great to hear it in full for the first time last week! Hear the music on the Sonic Collaborations bandcamp here.
UPCOMING ALBUM RELEASES IN 2026
Live at dawn on Lowestoft Beach (June 21st 2025)
This is new ground for me. I’m calling it ‘docupop’. It blends electronica, ambient, classical, jazz, and folk. The songs explore our relationship with the ocean; whales, mythology, climate, and environmental protections. It was really great to co-write with Lottie P (Goat Girl) on many of the songs, as well as a great band with Nic Pendelbury (viola) and Steve Pretty (trumpet). Extra special was the opportunity to collaborate with scientist Helen Czerski around her book Blue Machine and with environmentalist George Monbiot.
We play the whole album live at our album Launch at the Theatre Ship, London on 24th March. More details to follow.
